Serving as general manager of the Central Basin Municipal Water District, Alejandro (Alex) Rojas has reversed the organization’s financial problems and raised its bond rating. In addition to reducing rates for local water users, Alejandro (Alex) Rojas has accomplished this turnaround by growing cash reserves to more than $20 million, increasing efficiency, and keeping construction costs under budget.
In addition to his success at the municipal water district, Mr. Rojas improved the operations of the Bassett Unified School District, where he oversaw $30+ million in infrastructure improvements. He also presided over an increase in the Bassett Unified School District’s enrollment. In another district in Tustin, he ensured long-term stability by securing $135 million in bond funds.
Also working in the private sector, Mr. Rojas is currently a principal consultant for Greenvale Consulting Services in Los Angeles, whose clients he advises on construction management using Six Sigma practices. Previously, he served as COO of Siembra Mobile, a K-12 tech startup, guiding its business strategy and overseeing a 100 percent increase in its customer base during its first year.
After earning an undergraduate degree from California State University in Fullerton, Mr. Rojas earned a master’s in water engineering and management from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He later earned a PhD in organizational leadership from the University of Southern California. In his spare time, he volunteers as a Rose Bowl Rider and participates in show jumping and other equestrian events.
